MOBILE SATELLITE EARTH STATION

The cost of each portable unit is $2,750. Project Saint consists of a small VHF radio transceiver--capable of operating on most available OSCAR satellite digital and voice modes, a complete power supply including a small solar panel and gel-cell battery, digital modem, operating software, antenna and portable case with built-in 232 computer port. You must supply a computer (preferably a laptop or notebook).

Project Saint is the product of five years of research and testing by Tom King and our team of engineers and technicians. It is self-contained and can be used to send and receive information point to point in 95% of the world! It also includes an accurate global positioning system. The software determines each available OSCAR (Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio) orbit period, doppler shift, and footprint 'window'.

Project Saint utilizes several small 'store and forward' satellites orbiting approximately 200 miles above the earth.

A FAST MOVING TRUCK!

The OSCAR satellites travel in a polar orbit utilizing the earth's rotation to cover virtually every point on the earth. The satellites travel at roughly 17,000 miles per hour. Our software will automatically tell your computer when one of the satellites will pass over your location. If you have digital messages or files ready, the satellite's onboard computer will quickly 'scoop-up' your messages in a quick 'packet' burst and deliver it to any other point on the earth in less than 90 minutes! You will be in any given satellite's 'footprint' (area of coverage) from an average of only seven to ten minutes--more than enough time!

The satellites are available to the worldwide amateur radio community. You will have to hold a no-code Technician amateur radio license. All you have to do is pass a short multiple- choice examination. We can provide you the FCC question pool for easy study. One to two weeks of study can usually get you ready to pass the test! No morse code is required.

Our ministry is currently working to negotiate needed third- party and reciprocal ham radio agreements with nations in Central and Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world.

We can provide a 'clearinghouse' link for you and your missionaries by receiving incoming messages and passing them on via CrossConnect and CompuServe e-mail links, fax, telephone and ham radio. We are charging a nominal $50 per month user fee for this service.

Blessings For Obedience Ministries is committed to improving communication to and from the foreign mission field. We have daily scheduled 'nets' on ham radio. We provide free phone patches for missionaries to their families and ministries. Our net times also provide a meeting place for fellowship, prayer, support, encouragement and emergency traffic.
